MISSION AND HISTORY
Let's hear what the ICJ has to say!

We are a handful of volunteers from around the world who have decided that the time for talk is over. We will use the power of the law to ask the world’s governments a simple question: What are they doing to protect future generations?
In the nineties, the International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion on nuclear weapons. Today, another threat has captured the headlines - climate change. Simply, we want an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the rights of future generations.
Our team includes everyone from student activists to artists to senior attorneys. Young people of all nations are welcome to join us, and members of our team hail from around the world, making this a truly global movement.
Our legal framework has been endorsed by UN Special Rapporteur David Boyd and numerous other legal experts from both the United Nations and civil society. Please contact us if your school or organization would like to be included!
To change everything, we need everyone.
Note: We are committed to making the movement for climate justice accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Our site seeks to adhere as closely as possible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Although we strive to adhere to the guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all aspects, including news coverage of our campaign, or other websites we may link to. Please be aware that due to the dynamic nature of the website, minor issues may occasionally occur as it is updated. We are continually seeking out solutions and are more than happy to provide any needed accommodations; if any part of our campaign is inaccessible or confusing, please don't hesitate to contact our web master Robin at rhappel@fordham.edu, or another member of our campaign.
